Parking is $6 per vehicle. After 4:30 p.m., parking is $4 per vehicle.
Food and Gift Shops
Food & Refreshments
Our food court offers two options: Track One Pizza that serves pizza slices and bread sticks; and the Gateway Cafe, which offers sandwiches, hamburgers and hotdogs, soup, salads and more. Food is generally available during museum hours. Drink machines and snack machines are available in the concourse area of the Rotunda.
Enjoy the Rookwood Ice Cream Parlor for something sweet. It's open Monday - Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admire the restored Rookwood tile with your treat!
Shopping at Cincinnati Museum Center
Cincinnati Museum Center has three shops, the Store to Explore, the Collectors Gallery—both located off the Rotunda—and the Children’s Gift Shop located in the lobby of the Duke Energy Children’s Museum. Gift shop hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Accessibility and Amenities
Arriving by Car and Parking
Parking is $6 cash per vehicle upon entry. Parking is free for Members. For persons with officially registered disability decals, twenty parking spaces are designated and available on a first-come first-served basis. For assistance getting into the building, call Public Safety at (513) 287-7048 at least 24 hours in advance. An officer will arrange assistance for you.
Arriving by Van or Bus
Drivers may drop you off at the entrance. Buses arriving with school groups may park near the rear of the lot.
Entrance
Our fully accessible visitor entrance is at the top of our sloped driveway.
Automatic Front Doors
Our historic front doors are heavy. Doors to the far left and far right have push-plates mounted on the wall for automatic opening. Some interior doors of the same type also have push-plate controls.
Elevators
As you enter the museums, there is an elevator alcove to your right in the Cincinnati History Museum and to your left in the Museum of Natural History & Science. These elevators serve all three levels of the museums: C (Concourse), M (Mezzanine) and LL (Lower Level).These levels are marked in Braille on the inside of the elevator doorframes. An elevator in the Rotunda, to the right of the main entrance as you come in the front doors, serves the Lower Level lobby with access to Duke Energy Children’s Museum, Multi-purpose rooms, Ruthven Gallery, Westheimer Exhibit Hall and the Children’s Shop.
Ramps
A series of wide ramps flow through the Cincinnati History Museum and the Museum of Natural History & Science, taking you to each of their three levels. Along the path in the Cincinnati History Museum, there is one set of steps next to an optional wheelchair lift. Staff is available for assistance if needed.
OMNIMAX Theater Access Notes
The OMNIMAX Theater can be reached by elevator as well as by stairs. Ushers are available to escort you to a seat at the top of the theater or to direct you to the elevator entrance.
The OMNIMAX Theater offers inclusion technologies:
- Rear Screen Captioning - a scrolling text signboard at the rear of the theater will provide captioning for up to 25 hearing-impaired patrons using Plexiglas reflection boards at their seats
- Radio Frequency Headsets - up to 25 guests can use these remote headsets for alternative soundtracks; including a descriptive track for the blind, an amplified soundtrack for the hearing-impaired or alternative language tracks.
Amenities
Restrooms
Near the elevators on Mezzanine and Lower levels, there are accessible restrooms with Braille labeling on the door signs.
Water Fountains
Water fountains are near the elevators on the Lower level and are wheelchair accessible.
ATM Machine
An ATM machine is located near the front entrance in the Rotunda in front of the Public Safety Office.
Lockers
Lockers are available for use on a first-come first-serve basis near the Rotunda level Men's restroom and off the Lower Level lobby outside the Ruthven Gallery. Lockers require two quarters. Change machines are located next to these locker areas for convenience.
Stroller Rental
Strollers can be rented from the Box Office for a $2 fee plus a refundable $10 deposit. Deposit refunded upon return of stroller in same condition as when rented.
Wheelchair Rental
Wheelchairs are available for use at no charge on a first-come first-served basis from the Box Office, with a refundable $10 deposit. Deposit refunded upon return of the wheelchair in same condition as when issued.
First Aid Services
First Aid services are available in the Public Safety Office. For emergencies, contact the nearest staff member who will contact Public Safety.
TTY Telephone
A TTY pay telephone is located on the concourse near the elevator outside the Men’s restroom.
Special Needs Room
A room is available for privacy for any personal or family need or emergency. To request access, visit the Box Office or, for emergencies, see a Public Safety officer.

Bus Service
The No.1 bus connects downtown to Cincinnati Museum Center, the Cincinnati Zoo and Mt. Adams. There is a stop near the Museum Center entrance.
