Come face to face with our 16th president at Cincinnati Museum Center
Abe Lincoln visits Cincinnati on February 12

CINCINNATI—There’s no better way to celebrate the birth of our 16th president than with Lincoln himself. Step back in time and experience history when Abraham Lincoln visits Cincinnati on February 12.

Cincinnati Museum Center is the host site and official Cincinnati stop for the 150th anniversary commemoration of Lincoln’s inaugural journey from Springfield, Illinois to Washington, D.C.

Organized by the National Park Service, The Momentous Issue of Civil War, program re-creates Lincoln’s visit to Cincinnati in 1861. Watch history come alive as professional Lincoln interpreter, Fritz Klein, is welcomed by early Cincinnati Mayor, Richard M. Bishop, and delivers the same speech that Lincoln shared with the city in 1861.

The event will also highlight early Cincinnati history and various issues facing our country leading up to Lincoln’s 1860 election.

The evening will be full of celebration, complete with performances by the Kolping Saengerchor and a birthday cake in honor of Lincoln’s birthday.

The event is free and open to the public. The Cincinnati Civil War Roundtable is the community partner for this event.
